Float
Dir. Calvin Simmons  -  USA  -   80min.

Float” is a comedy about a perennial loser and his dream to make an 'Oscar-worthy' film… about a floating women’s prison.

As Paul Greene navigates the Hollywood system, he is constantly confronted by failure and rejection; and just when it seems he has no lower to go, he finds a way to believe. Wielding his unbreakable spirit, he manages to capture the heart of a lovely actress when he stumbles into moderate success; the only problem is Paul is far more comfortable with failure.

Because the shooting script contained no written dialogue, “Float” relied heavily on the art of improvisation. This approach inspired uniquely fresh, personal, and hilarious performances.

The OC Weekly raves that Paul Kolsby delivers “a dedicated lead performance… as a semi-delusional would-be writer-director”. Big-time producer ‘Gil’ is played skillfully and slyly by “Entourage’s” Joshua LeBar. And Marian Zapico brings ‘Isabelle’ to life as she searches for her own place in the land they call Hollywood.
